MMA is a women-owned business that specializes in convention, meeting and event planning along with convention analysis and lead management. Our company mission is to be a recognized leader in strategic and logistic services for conventions, meetings and events. Emphasis is on exceptional personalized service tailored to meet individual clients’ needs, to continually improve processes and cost efficiencies while partnering with clients and functioning as an extension of their company.
At MMA, we have 29 experienced team members in the healthcare meeting and convention planning arena. MMA’s home office is located in beautiful Sherburne, NY and has remote offices around the country. In addition, we utilize a number of travel directors on an as needed basis in various cities for on-site assistance.
Employees of MMA are encouraged to attend convention-related courses and work toward completing their Certified HealthCare Meeting Professional (CMP-HC), Certified Trade Show Marketer (CTSM), Certified Manager of Exhibits (CME) certifications. We are members of the HealthCare Convention & Exhibitors Association (HCEA) and Center for Exhibition Industry Research (CEIR) and as such attend webinars and stay up-to-date with all industry trends. As a company, we stay in tune of all PhRMA Code, OIG and AMA guidelines and subscribe to Pharmaceutical Executive as well as attend courses relating to PhRMA Code rules and regulations. In addition, due to our relationship with the American Association of Nurse Practitioners, we are required to understand ACCME (Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education) guidelines.
Meet Our Team
Myria is a conference coordinator, working on association client events. She specializes in program management with focuses in online registration, abstract management and website building. Myria brings a wealth of customer service experience to MMA and strives to use that experience to make each client’s conference successful.
Janice has over 32 years experience in the meeting and convention management arena and is founder of Meeting Management Associates.
She was a convention/meeting manager at Procter & Gamble with emphasis on the healthcare arena. She was Project Manager and then Executive Director of MHAUS, a non-profit organization while simultaneously managing and growing MMA.
Janice has a BS degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Finance. Janice has certification as a Certified Trade Show Marketer (CTSM) through University of San Francisco and a Certified Exhibit Manager (CEM) through TS2.
Oria has worked for the company in various capacities since 2011. He is an integral part of our Association Department working with clients on their exhibit management strategy. He also assists with MMA’s social media platforms.
Oria has earned his BS degree in Business/Economics from the State University of New York at Oneonta in 2015, an MBA/MF from the Texas A&M University – Corpus Christi in 2018 and a Digital Event Strategist (DES) certification through PCMA.
Lee is a conference coordinator, working on the Tier One Conference Team. She brings a wealth of experience to MMA that she acquired from both her tenure as the director of a program serving at-risk youth and their families, as well as many years as a free-lance writer. Lee uses this knowledge to ensure that every client’s needs are met with great success.
Brenda is the Director of our convention area. The convention team currently manages more than 150 conventions per year. Brenda is instrumental in identifying cost efficiencies, streamlining processes and developing strategic initiatives for MMA’s clients.
She has a BS degree in Communications from Alfred University. Brenda has her certification as a Certified Trade Show Marketer (CTSM) through Northern Illinois University.
Kelsey serves as a Convention Coordinator, specializing in product theaters and meeting planning for corporate clients. She earned her B.A. in Communications Studies and Public Relations from SUNY Cortland in 2017. Kelsey’s prior experience in the field of Marketing and Event Planning has advanced her understanding of client goals and assisted in relationship building.
Craig brings 16 years of customer facing workforce experience to the MMA team including, four years overseeing all aspects of production and distribution of a wide variety of promotional products for both private and corporate events.
More recently Craig worked in the communications industry where he spent over 5 years building customer relations and assessing their needs to keep up with the demand of an ever evolving industry.
Christina manages the attendee registration, reimbursements, database management for association conferences. Prior to joining MMA, Christina worked 14 years for a healthcare association and has many years customer service and administrative experience.
With a background loaded with customer service and imaginative marketing, including more than 15 years as a business owner in the special events and wedding industry, Jen helps our clients tell their story with creative solutions that increase their brand awareness and loyalty. In addition to focusing on MMA’s promotions department, she values the importance of flexibility and enthusiastically supports our Marketing, Sales and Sponsorship Coordinators effectively.
Natasha has joined Meeting Management Associates as an Administrative Coordinator. Previously specializing in Executive Administration within a Healthcare Industry for 8 years which has granted her the diversified knowledge of Administrative functions. She earned her A.S. in Science Degree at SUNY Onondaga in Syracuse, N.Y. and continued her education at the Institute of Integrative Nutrition in N.Y.C earning her B.A. of Science in Nutrition.
With over 25 years experience in the meeting and convention management arena working for Meeting Management Associates. Lisa is the Director of our sales department and is active in the special projects arena of the company along with keeping abreast of latest trends in the industry.
She is a Certified Meeting Planner with a sub-specialty in healthcare meetings through The Events Industry Council, has a Bachelor of Advertising Specialty Information designation and is a Certified Toastmaster.
Rebecca serves as a sponsorship coordinator, assisting with the management and logistics of sponsorship and membership programs. She has a BS in Recreation Management and a MS in Reading Education. Before joining the MMA team, Rebecca was a teacher for 20 years and brings many years of planning and customer service experience.
Amanda joins the MMA Team as a Sponsorship Coordinator with over 12 years of customer service and management experience.
Desiree serves as a sponsorship coordinator, assisting with the management and logistics of sponsorship and membership programs. Prior to joining the MMA team, she spent 20 years in the telecommunications field where she held positions as a Facility Assignor, Systems Analyst, and a Network Engineer. During that time, Desiree successfully cultivated her experiences in frontline customer care, and end user systems support into the ability to deliver an exceptional customer experience that is preeminent.
Maggie is one of MMA’s Sponsorship Coordinators, managing the logistics of memberships and sponsorships. She brings over ten years of retail customer service experience. Maggie understands the value of customer service and is always seeking to exceed client expectations.
Kate serves as our Sponsorship Coordinator Team Lead and manages the logistics of sponsorships and memberships for healthcare related companies. She brings a professional background focused on customer service orientated interactions and attention to detail within the healthcare industry. She earned her M.A. degree in the field of Human Services in 2010.
Debbie has over 15 years meeting management experience. She manages Regional Leadership Meeting logistics, along with the Conference Speaker System. Prior to Meeting Management Associates, Debbie worked for the State of Texas. She received her degree from Texas Tech University.
Christina brings a varied wealth of knowledge to MMA. Christina likes to learn all aspects of association planning and consistently looks for ways to improve processes. Christina is well versed and knowledgeable in various administrative duties and is instrumental in the overall success of conference planning.
Lori joined Meeting Management Associates in April 2015 and is in the role of a Convention Coordinator.
Prior to joining MMA, Lori has worked in many different industries, including chemical, construction, and online marketing businesses. She brings over 25 years of administrative and customer service background to her position.
Debra is a Certified Meeting Professional through the Convention Industry Council. Debra manages programs and invited speakers within our association department. Prior to Meeting Management Associates, Debra worked for American Association of Nurse Practitioners for more than 20 years and Baylor College of Medicine for 11 years.
Elise has been with Meeting Management since 2007 and is responsible for all aspects of the Accounts Payable systems. In addition, she manages MMA’s IT systems and partners.
Elise has a BS in Applied Mathematics from SUNY Oswego. Prior to joining MMA, she worked on her family farm and at the Hall Newman Center at SUNY Oswego.
Jill focuses her efforts on serving the needs of MMA’s professional association clients by building and maintaining relationships with exhibitors and sponsors who support these organizations.
She joins MMA with a foundation of diverse experience and skills honed by many years of event management in travel & tourism, hospitality & entertainment and international shipping & logistics.
Jill manages sponsorship development for our clients’ professional conventions and conferences leading to long-term partnerships.
Melissa designs and produces marketing and digital conference publications, as well as organizes exhibitor registration for our conferences. With over 20 years of marketing, conference management, customer service, and event planning experience, Melissa uses her expertise to create dynamic outreach material and build positive relationships with our vendors.
Nancy has joined Meeting Management Associates as a Tier One Convention Coordinator. Nancy brings over 30 years of Customer Service, Administrative and most recently, Event Planning. She possesses an AS in Business Administration as well as studies in Event Planning.
Thirty-two years experience as Manager at Coca-Cola comes to Meeting Management with insight into process improvements and operations development.
Todd is Director of operations managing the convention on-site process, warehouse, financial department, promotional products and office maintenance. Todd joined MMA in 1999 after ten years of on-site management on a part-time basis.
Rebecca serves as a Convention Coordinator. Rebecca brings over 25 years of administrative, human resources and management to her position. Prior to joining MMA, Rebecca worked in various industries, including manufacturing, customer service and sales.
